This product provides type-through protection for most notebook or laptop keypads and other suitable push button units. It consists of a specially fabricated soft, flexible and transparent PU membrane cut-to-size and edged with a double-sided adhesive strip for secure fitting. This membrane protects as you type and operate your laptop. Nowadays, most notebooks or laptops have rather shallow key profiles and minimal travel distances up and down. This special laptop Protector covers your kepad while still allowing for free & easy input and typing. The cost of each laptop cover is only: $12.95 US/ £10.95 GB/ $15.95 CDN. Delivery and taxes, duties (if any) are extra. Discounts are offered for quantity orders. You simply need to measure and tell us the length and width of your keypad area so we can cut the cover accordingly. Please contact us with your feedback at laptopmembrane@kador.com Universal Laptop Type-through Protector Material Specifications The material used in the Laptop Type-through Protector has been specially designed for KADOR to ensure excellent flexibility and long-lasting strength. Moreover, it has been formulated with additives to reduce discolouring (UV stability) and to promote anti-staticity. During the manufacturing process it is further de-staticised and an anti-glare finish is applied though it remains 'see-through' translucent. The material is lead and cadium toxin free. It is also re-cyclable. This all ensures that each Laptop Type-through Protector complies with international and EC quality standards. Laptop Type-through Protector will stand up to abrasion, puncture, tear and impact, and resists many gasses, liquids and chemicals; both petroleum and water-based. In fact, it shows overall good chemical resistance. it will protect a keyboard from most common chemicals including many oils. At the very worst, it should give initial protection to keyboards where there is less chemical resistance and allow for timely removal before extensive damage occurs to the keyboard. For further information on PU Chemical Resistance or for more detailed advice on specific applications of the Laptop Type-through Protector can be obtained from KADOR's Technical Department. Laptop Type-through Protector also performs extremely well over a wide range of temperatures, remaining flexible from -73 degree C to well over 300 degrees C in certain conditions. The Specific Gravity of the material is 1.12. The Hardness Durometer is 85A. The Tensile Strength is 48 MPa. The Ultimate Elongation is 570%. The Ultimate Modulus at 100% Elongation is 6.8 MPa and at 300% Elongation is 12.1 MPa. CLEANING Cleaning Laptop Type-through Protector can be undertaken whilst the cover is on the keyboard or if preferred, by removing, cleaning and replacing it. If the former method is used, please ensure that the laptop is turned off. The cleaning process is best carried out with dilute soap or detergent solution. Proprietary cleaners should not be used unless specifically stated for cleaning purposes, as they may contain either an abrasive or solvent, both of which might adversely affect the PU. Before fitting your cover to you laptop, clean you keypad with his wipe. More wipes can be purchased directly from Kador Ltd. and can be used directly on the Protector cover to keep it clean and hygenic. To fit the laptop Protector, simply lay it in position over the keypad. Working on one side at a time, peel off the wax paper and carefully adhere the cover to your laptop. Do the same for each side ensuring that the cover is smoothly stretched over the key tops. Laptop Protector- How to measure & order Please measure and tell us the length & width of your keypad area so we can cut the cover accordingly. Note that we will add an extra 8mm to your measurements all around to accommodate the double-sided adhesive strip along all edges. When you place your order, you will be asked for these measurements. Laptop Protector- Measuring both keypad & mouse area As an option, if you wish to cover your laptop's "mouse" area in addition to the keypad, we can cut the cover accordingly and add adhesive edging to suit. And yes, you will still be able to use your mouse straight through the cover!
