Designed to slip easily over your shoes or boots, Yaktrax keeps you safely mobile in winters' slippery conditions. This innovative traction device is an inexpensive way to convert your shoes or boots into "ice footware".

Yaktrax are made of a durable stretch rubber frame covered with stainless steel coils. These coils are rust-proofed and hand-wound to give 360 degrees of traction on ice and snow. Each step you take places hundreds of this coil's biting edges in direct contact with the ice beneath your feet.

Yaktrax are suitable for all ages; from kids to grandparents. They are used by pedestrians, the elderly, joggers, business people, postal workers, construction workers ... by anyone who wants greater stability on ice or packed snow. Wear them to walk on your icy driveway, whilst travelling to work or school or just to the mailbox.

How do Yaktrax work?

When you walk or run with Yaktrax, every step you take places hundreds of biting edges in direct contact with the ice beneath your feet. Yaktrax create a solid, secure grip by way of our patented SkidLock(TM) coil system, made of specially treated steel.  As you step, each tiny SkidLock coil presses downward, becoming embedded into the ice below.  As you transfer weight onto your foot, hundreds of SkidLock surfaces squeeze into the ice, providing you with stability in all directions:  forward, backward, and side to side.  When you lift your foot, the Yaktrax stay securely on your shoe, offering unhindered ease of movement.

 

Do I have to walk differently?

No.  You will move about naturally.  There is nothing new to learn--just walk as you normally would and experience stability on ice and snow like you have never felt before.

 

How do I put them on my shoes?

The easiest way for most people is to sit down, cross your legs, pull your foot up near your other knee and slip them over your shoe.  You need to start from the front and then pull them over the bottom of your shoes, securing them in the back heel area.  Some people prefer to fit them over their shoe prior to putting on their shoes.  Whichever way you find it easiest, will be the best way for you.

 

Do men and women's Yaktrax differ?

No.  The only difference is the sizing.  See our size chart as below.

What kind of warranty does your product offer?

Yaktrax has a full  90 day manufacturer's warranty  which is a term of sale.  Should anything happen to your Yaktrax or you are not completely satisfied, we will be available to take care of your needs.

 

Are there any situations that you would not recommend Yaktrax?

Yaktrax are not made for ski boots or mountaineering.  Do not use them on slippery non-icy surfaces such as marble floors.  They are meant to be worn on icy/snowy surfaces.  Remember always take extra care when walking on icy and snowy surfaces as no product can guarantee your personal safety.

Limitations of Liability and Implied Warranties (Warranty is offered by Yaktrax Inc. only and not Kador Ltd.)

By purchasing or using this traction augmentation device, you agree that the sole remedy for damages resulting from use of this product is the repair or replacement of defective parts. Yaktrax inc. will replace defective parts within 90 days of the date purchased if the product is returned to Yaktrax Inc., 4312 Kitsap Way, #101, Bremerton, WA 98312, USA, postage prepaid along with proof of purchase. In no event shall the seller be liable for incidental or consequential damages.

The warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular use are limited to use of this product as a traction augmentation device on outdoor ice and packed snow. There are no warranties which extend beyond the description as on the web pages on this site which relate thereto.
